Following the award announced in September 2019, Iveco Defence Vehicles has signed a
contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence to initially provide 918 medium multirole protected
vehicles denominated “12kN”.
The signing ceremony was held on November 28, 2019 at the NIDV exhibition in Rotterdam,
The Netherlands in the presence of Vice Admiral Arie Jan de Waard, Director of the Defence
Material Organization (DMO).
According to the contract for the new generation of Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACV)
awarded in 2018, CNH Industrial subsidiary Iveco Defence Vehicles is providing its 8x8
amphibious armored platform design, core components and services.
In the frame of the contract recently awarded by the U.S. Marine Corps to the
company, BAE Systems, along with teammate Iveco Defence Vehicles, will deliver additional
Amphibious Combat Vehicles under a third order for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP). The
award is for the ACV Personnel Carrier variant (ACV-P) and represents an important next
step on the path to full rate production.
The ACV is an advanced 8x8 open ocean-capable vehicle that is equipped with a new sixcylinder, 700hp engine, which provides a significant power increase over the legacy fleet
currently in service. The vehicle delivers best-in-class mobility in all terrain and has a
suspended interior seat structure for 13 embarked Marines, blast-mitigating positions for a
crew of three, and improved survivability and force protection over currently fielded systems.
Current low-rate production is focused on the ACV-P variant. Further special variants will be
added under full rate production within the ACV Family of Vehicles program. Iveco Defence
Vehicles and BAE Systems previously received the Lot 1 and Lot 2 awards.

The acquisition is part of the Defence-wide Replacement Programme of Wheeled Vehicles (DVOW -
Defensiebrede Vervanging Operationele Wielvoertuigen), with deliveries from 2022 through 2026.

This award represents an important milestone in the consolidation of the strategic partnership between
the Dutch MoD and Iveco Defence Vehicles, confirming once again the leadership of the company in the
multirole vehicle segment for defense and homeland security missions.
On Sunday 8th September three Iveco Defence Vehicles LMV Custom took part in the F1 drivers parade at
the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The vehicles, painted in the colours of the Italian flag, are owned by the
Ministry of Defence, which organized the activity though its National Armaments Directorate, in
cooperation with the Italian Motor Club (ACI).
The LMV Custom is designed to protect personnel working in high risk areas. It is a less military
characterized version of the high-performing LMV, customized for the specific mission.
